Luxury retro car poster with paint splashing effect

- Create a new document in Photoshop.
- Download Talbot-Lago car *Png file.
- Open road image.
- Increase Image Canvas size in 3 times.
- Duplicate road layer 3 tames and merge created layers to make road longer.
- Add Layer Mask and fill it with reflected black&white gradient just like on screen shot.
- Apply Motion Blur filter to the road (Filter > Blur > Motion Blur).
- Apply Distort transformation to blurred road just like on the image below.
- Add layer mask.
- Apply to right edge huge soft round black color brush in the Mask.
- Apply Luminosity Blending Mode to road layer.
- Fill bottom background layer with linear white/gray linear gradient.
- Apply Opacity 80% for road blurred layer and merge it with background layer.
- Insert Sky image. Apply Auto Contrast. Image > Adjustments > Auto Contrast.
- Go to Image > Adjustments > Levels (move black left and white right markers to center a little bit).
- Add Layer Mask and Erase bottom part of sky background using smooth Eraser tool Eraser.
- Insert Illustrator decorative lines.
- Insert car image. Duplicate it.
- To create car motion effect, apply Motion blur to the bottom car layer.
- You should get something like this, apply small Perspective transformation to it.
- Apply Screen Blending Mode and Opacity 75% to it.
- Erase front area of the blurred layer.
- Insert paint splash image.
- Make it black & white: Image > Adjustments > Black & White > Maximum White, set Red channel like on the screen shot.
- This is black and white paint splash.
- Apply Horizontal Flip transformation to it. Edit > Transformation > Flip Horizontal.
- Place Splash layer below car layer.
- Rotate splash like in the example below.
- Correct color balance for paint splash to make it similar car body color.
- Image > Adjustments > Selective color. Play with setting to get best result.
- Erase right part of splash for use it in others areas of the car body.
- Create a new empty layer above car body layer and mask border between splash and car body using small brush with following settings:
- To choose right colors faster, use Eyedropper Tool. Keep active Brush Tool and click “Alt” shortcut.
- In order to make solid color process created spot with Blur Tool.
- You may get the same result using Stamp Tool.
- Make visible right part of the paint splash and repeat previous actions.
- You can make various splashes using Warp transformations and Liquify filter. Play with color balance splashes and Levels.
- Merge car body with splashes.
- Make color balance of the car wit splashes cooler using selective color settings.
- Add small paint drops using round brush with size dynamic settings.
- Use following settings.
- Duplicate background(landscape) layers and merge them.
- Place created layer above tree(“Beanstalk”) layer.
- Load selection for tree layer.
- Copy selected area and paste it above tree layer.
- Apply layer style effect to paint drops.
- Add Splatter effect using splatter brush to the front wheel.
- Merge all layers. Apply Auto Contrast.
- Create new white layer with Fill=0%.
- Apply Gradient Overlay to it.
- Merge layers again.
- Correct levels just like in the example below.
- Apply Gradient Overlay to merged layer.
- You may add vintage effect. Insert old paper texture, make it black & white, apply Soft Light Blending Mode and Opacity 40%.
